STAFF PROFILE
Meet the Founder of Little Einstein Daycare and Playhouse, Carol McKinley-Lewis. It is my optimal objective to provide opportunity for the holistic development of children from ages 0-3. To facilitate different quality care and guidance in preparing children I come in contact with for their chartered course in life. To provide proper supervision while at work and play.
I am a certified early childhood educator for over thirty years during which time I have taught in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. I am eager and enthusiastic about the nurturing of children’s learning environment. I am confident my experience and competence makes me an asset to your child’s development.

Meet the Director at Little Einstein Daycare & Playhouse. She is young, vibrant and has a passion to see children excel. She is qualified teacher and has taught at the primary school level for the past five years. She has a track record of helping her students succeed in reading. Her mission is to help all the toddlers at Little Einstein Daycare & Playhouse develop their pre-reading skills.

Parent Tip: Dealing with a Crying Toddler
- Stay calm and patient: It can be frustrating and overwhelming when your toddler is crying, but it's important to remain calm and patient. Remember, crying is their way of expressing their needs or emotions.
2. Validate their feelings: Let your toddler know that you understand they are upset by using simple language, such as "I can see you're feeling sad/angry/frustrated." This helps them feel heard and acknowledged.
3. Provide comfort and reassurance: Offering hugs, gentle touch, and soothing words can help comfort your toddler during their crying episode. Let them know that you are there for them and that their feelings are valid.
4. Take a step back to assess the situation: If your toddler is crying due to a specific reason (e.g., hunger, tiredness, discomfort), try to identify and address that need. Providing a snack, a nap, or changing their diaper can often help alleviate the tears.
5. Engage in distractions: Sometimes, a change of scenery or a fun, engaging activity can help distract your toddler from their tears. Singing a song, playing a game, or offering a favorite toy can help redirect their attention and shift their mood.
6. Teach emotions and self-regulation: As your toddler grows older, help them learn about emotions and how to manage them. Use simple language to describe different emotions and offer strategies for calming down, such as deep breaths or counting to 10.
7. Seek support when needed: Parenting can be challenging, and it's okay to ask for help when you need it. Reach out to other parents, family members, or professionals if you are feeling overwhelmed or if your toddler's crying persists and seems excessive.
Remember, each child is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. Keep trying different strategies until you find what helps soothe and comfort your crying toddler.
